The Family of Bernhard Mohr

The hop merchant Bernhard Mohr was born in Altenmuhr on November 8, 1829. On October 21, 1857, he married Hanna Blumenthal, who had been born in Altenmuhr on November 1, 1837. The family initially lived in Muhr and later in Gunzenhausen, in the house at Bühringerstraße 1, which Bernhard had built together with his brother Salomon.

Daughter Therese, born in Altenmuhr on May 1, 1860, married Bernhard Blumenthal in 1879. Together with her father, Bernhard Mohr, they acquired the entire property at Bühringerstraße 1 and resided there.

Son Joseph was born in Gunzenhausen in 1862 and died on June 18, 1877.

Bernhard Mohr was granted citizenship on August 31, 1875. In 1885, he moved with to Nuremberg, where he obtained citizenship and the right of local residence on December 11, 1891. He conducted various business activities, including trading in livestock, horses, goods, and hops.
